Scholarship Program for the Alta Summer Camp

What is the Alta Summer Camp Campership Program?
We believe every child deserves time to play, explore, and grow in the mountains—regardless of their family’s financial situation. The Alta Summer Camp Scholarship Program helps families offset the cost of camp so more children can enjoy a week (or more!) of adventure, friendships, and fresh alpine air. This fund is fully supported by generous donors who want to invest in kids, families, and the Alta community.
How the Campership Program Works
Our scholarship fund is designed to be simple, supportive, and stigma-free:
- Families complete a short, friendly application form.
- Our team reviews applications and matches families with available funds.
- Awards may cover a portion of camp tuition, a half-week, or a full week of camp, depending on available funds and family needs.
- Heads up - it is still the responsibility of the campers family to register their camper and pay the non-refundable deposit of $53.50
- Families are notified by email about their award and any remaining balance due before camp begins.
Our goal is to stretch every donated dollar to help as many campers as possible while still making a meaningful difference for each family.
How Your Donation Helps

- Give kids a safe, joyful place to play, learn, and build resilience outdoors
On our donor form, you’ll see options like:
- “Help fund a half-week camper”
- “Help fund a full-week camper”
- “Any other amount”
All payments are processed securely online, and you’ll receive a confirmation email for your records.
Who Can Apply?
Families who are experiencing financial strain, living on a limited income, or going through a difficult season (job change, medical bills, single parenting, etc.) are welcome to apply.
You might be a good fit for a scholarship if:
- Camp tuition would be a true financial burden right now
- Your child would greatly benefit from a positive, structured, outdoor experience
- You are willing to partner with us by filling out a short, honest application
There are no long essays and no perfect words needed—just real information so we can understand your situation and do our best to help.
How Are Decisions Made?
We review applications using a combination of:
- Financial need
- Family circumstances
- Available scholarship funds for the season
We do our best to distribute funds fairly and thoughtfully, prioritizing families who might not be able to attend camp at all without assistance. All information shared on the application is kept private and confidential.
