Alta Summer Camp 2026: Daily Schedule

7:45 – 8:00 a.m. | Early Bird Drop-Off

Drop-off at the Little Cottonwood Canyon Park & Ride during the 15-minute window before shuttles depart promptly at 8:00 a.m.

8:30 – 9:30 a.m. | Free-Choice Creative Stations *

Early Birds begin the day with calm, joyful, open-ended play:

  • Recycled-material building

  • Art invitations

  • Loose parts and creative exploration

*A light grab-and-go snack is available (not a seated meal).

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Morning Hikes (All Campers)

Early Bird and Sleepy Sloth campers hike during this block. Hikes are age-appropriate and selected by each counselor group.

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. | Lunch

Campers return to camp and enjoy lunch! After lunch, campers join their counselor groups (10–12 children per group), each supported by a junior counselor.

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. | Afternoon Hikes or Free-Choice Activities

Our new autonomy-based model allows each counselor group to choose:

  • A second hike or

  • Free-choice activities such as STEM, nature crafts, recycled-materials building, outdoor games, and more

Activities are open-ended, ongoing, and child-led—no daily themes.

3:00 p.m. | Snack Time

All campers regroup for a healthy afternoon snack.

3:15 – 3:30 p.m. | Early Bird Departure

After snack, Early Bird campers gather belongings and head to the Albion Base parking area.
Early Bird campers load buses and vans to return to the Little Cottonwood Canyon Park & Ride.

3:45 – 4:00 p.m. | Early Bird Pick-Up at LCC Lower Park-n-Ride Lot

9:15 – 9:30 a.m. | Sleepy Sloth Drop-Off

Drop-off at the Little Cottonwood Canyon Park & Ride during the 15-minute window before shuttles depart at 9:30 a.m.

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Morning Hikes (All Campers)

4:30 – 5:00 p.m. | Sleepy Sloth Departure

Campers gather belongings and load shuttles to return to the Little Cottonwood Canyon Park & Ride.

5:15–5:30 p.m. | Sleepy Sloth Pick-Up

8:30 a.m. | No Transport Drop-Off & Integration

Campers using the No Transport option arrive directly at camp and integrate with the Early Bird group.

8:30 – 9:30 a.m. | Free-Choice Creative Stations *
